Todays Topic: Are you an imposter?

Maybe you’ve been here…

Finger hovering over the "send" button for 45 minutes.

The email written. Good content. Solid value.

But the voice wouldn't stop:

"Who are you to teach this? You're only 6 months ahead of them. You don't have 100K followers. You're going to get exposed."

Delete the draft.

Close the laptop.

Another week of silence.

This happened to me on multiple occasions

Perfect emails, never sent.

"Better" ideas that never ship.

Endless comparison to people 10 years ahead of me.

Then I realized:

I'm not protecting my audience from bad content.

I'm protecting my ego from judgment.

So I researched the question: "What makes someone qualified?"

Expert = 10,000 hours of experience

If you follow this logic, you'll never start.

By the time you hit 10,000 hours, the landscape has changed and you've wasted years staying silent.

Teacher = 1 step ahead

The person 6 months behind you doesn't need the expert's advice.

They need YOUR specific journey.

The struggles you just overcame. The mistakes you just made. The breakthrough you just had.

You remember what it felt like to not know what you now know.

The experts? They forgot.

You're close enough to the struggle to explain it clearly.

That's not a weakness. That's your advantage.

Here's what shifted:

I stopped asking "Am I qualified?"

I started asking "Am I honest?"

Can I honestly say I've done this, gotten results, and can show someone else how?

If yes, I'm not an imposter.

I'm a guide.

Imposter syndrome isn't about competence.

It's about permission.

And you don't need permission.

Not from experts. Not from the algorithm. Not from anyone.

The only permission that matters is the permission you give yourself to share what you've learned.

From: Wannabe expert afraid of being exposed
To: Guide who shares what actually worked

The best teachers aren't the ones who've "arrived."

They're the ones who remember the struggle.

I sent that email I almost deleted.

11 said "this is exactly what I needed."

3 said "how did you know I was struggling with this?"

Not because I'm an expert.

Because I was honest about being 6 months ahead.

That honesty? That's what people actually need.

Not another guru pretending they've never struggled.

A real person showing them what's possible when you stop waiting for permission.

So if you're sitting on content you haven't shared...

If you're delaying that launch because you're "not ready yet"...

If you're waiting to feel qualified...

You already know enough.

You just need to stop asking for permission to share it.
